Partyin' Partyin' Yeah!? No...

So I've been relatively busy lately, hence why I haven't posted until now... What can I say? I actually have a life now! (Crazy, right?)

So... Tuesday the 19th was spent doing bits of Math study; but mostly procrastinating as usual ^.^ Leaving me waking up on Wednesday morning arrogantly confident, though still slightly stressing that I'd screw things up. Which, Murphy's Law, I did... A few times... But, I know I've most definitely still passed so I'm not overly fussed!

After that, I had no more exams! So... PARTY!?!?! Right? Wrong... The 'Exam Period 24/7 No Noise Policy' was still in effect until Friday 4pm (the ending time of the last Uni exam). So, how did I spend half the week? Sitting in my room playing Diablo II and The Sims 3 with [America!]. (Literally... It was almost like he was living in my room, that's how much time we wasted away... Hehe). Though there was one night where I did end up getting an incident report from the senior resident on my floor...

This, I regret. Yes; I am aware that there are people who got at least 11 reports last year and still managed to come back this year... But, I guess I just want to try and be the best possible resident I can be; to ensure that I can come back next year. Normally, when we're noisy during no noise hours; we only get a warning, which is then followed up by an incident report if we continue it. During exam period, there are no noise warnings. It's a straight up incident report. I tell ya... It's bloody hard being silent all the time; so it's almost impossible to not get one... But I was frustrated when I'd lasted till the second last night before getting one.

The reason I had gotten one was because [Regal Pain] and I were hanging out in my room; venting our end-of-exam energy by pillow fighting and annoying each other incessantly until we were laughing incredibly hard at around 2 or 3 in the morning... Yeah, not the best time of the morning I know... But it's sometimes easy to forget that you live with other people =.=

Anyways, after that... It was Friday! Last day of exam period! I spent the first half of the day playing with the puppies that were brought around to Pitt; until about 3pm when half of the Biochem students arrived from the exam saying it was incredibly easy. The last hour dragged on, but it was worth it. 4pm arrived, and my down the hall DJ friend had his speakers set up and was blasting music; while almost everyone already had the alcohol out and was blissfully socialising as loudly as they wanted.

I spent an hour or so with [DJ] and [America!], where I had a bottle of alcoholic cider for the first time (I can't even remember what it was really. It tasted almost as bad as beer, which is truly disgusting...) before going to dinner. After dinner, the night began. Everyone was either gathered in the common room pre-drinking, or in small groups of 2-3 in people's rooms doing the same thing. I spent most of my time before the club in the common room watching an incredibly drunk guy hit on every girl in the room (except for me, thankfully) with a bleeding eye socket as he had made an alcohol-induced decision to headbutt a pool cue... Yeaahhh...

Anyways! I was soon dressed up as a lion (the party was circus themed) and was heading over to the club with [Regal Pain] at around 9pm. Turns out that there was only a tiny handful of people who had dressed up; but I didn't care! The thing that annoyed me most was that the club had to close at 10pm because there weren't enough people to gain any profit. So, after 10pm, [Regal Pain] and I went into town so I could buy alcohol for him; he's not 18 yet... We got back to Uni, for me to find him sending me to bed as I was rather tipsy... In total, I had had a bottle of cider before dinner; tried a teensy bit of vodka in the common room; and had a vodka cruiser at the club, followed by my first ever shot (which tasted kinda like a chocolate milkshake... It was really nice! But I could tell how quickly it hit me when I felt dizzy walking back to the table where everyone was gathered... Yeeaahh... I blame [Azzo] for buying it for me after finding out I hadn't had one before.). Oh, and this was followed by another Vodka Cruiser... O.O

So, I left [Regal Pain] at his hall, Shelton, and headed back to Pitt where I came across a very drunk [DJ]. Normally [DJ] is really shy and barely talks, but boy does he change when he's drunk... We ended up talking in the common room for a while until we saw a girl and a guy come in. The girl has the same name as me, and used to live down the street from me years ago; so we know each other. The guy I had only seen once before, and I know he's moving into my floor next semester. We all hung out for a while until they started making out by the vending machine and running off, not at all suss, to her room... I found myself laughing, yet slightly concerned as she was driving me home the next day; and I did not want to walk into anything awkward the next morning.

Eventually I found my way into a guy's room who I know. I shall call him [Ducky] as he is the sport rep and always dresses up as our duck mascot... Anyways, so he, myself, [DJ] (though he flitted in and out), and a girl I know [FrayFray] gossiped and talked about random things most of the night. That was until I got a Facebook message from [Regal Pain] reading "You're pretty ;)". I asked him how drunk he was, and the reply I received was "Quite. Want a visit?". 10 minutes later, I was being scolded by him for still being awake instead of being asleep. He then tried to send me to bed; until he realised that it wasn't going to work. It was then that he revealed his inner (drunk) cuddly side... I couldn't help but laugh as he demanded hugs and would whine whenever I'd try pull away. 10 minutes later I was shooing him back off to Shelton hall as he was complaining that he was tired.

By the time all this had happened, it was about 3am. I was to get up in two and a half hours so I could leave to go home at around 6:30am... So, what did I do? Stay up all night of course! I wasn't about to be all cranky to the girl who was taking me home; so it was better for me to stay awake.

I lasted until I had gotten through my chiropractor session before crashing on my bed at 9am. I was woken by my dearest Mother at 3pm so I could get ready for work which ended at 10pm. As soon as I got home from that, I crashed again as I had to be up at 7:30 the next morning for another work shift.

After that work shift I went home for a few hours until [Dancer] came by to take me back to her place for the next couple of nights. We had a massive catch up session, ate ice cream, sang a lot... We also went around Southbank taking photos for her Art assignment; as well as trying not to spend money on the sales going round... I managed to restrict myself to a jumper, singlet, and two pairs of pants... That was impressive of me!

After two nights at [Dancer]'s, I went home for a couple of hours before heading back out to the city to meet up with [Riot!]. We went to King George Square, which was holding a Winter Festival; including ice skating. The heavens were pouring down, leaving the rink coated with a small puddle of H2O. [Riot!] played safe and cautious while skating round the rink... Meaning that he stayed upright the entire time (more due to the fact that he chose the moments to almost slip when I wasn't close enough to push him... Hehe). Me on the other hand? Yeah... I was way too reckless for my own good. I should have learnt my lesson after the first time I slipped over. But no! It took another three times after that as well... Though, I wouldn't be surprised if I had fallen over at least one more time if it weren't for [Riot!] ending it 15 minutes early as his ankle was screaming at him...

We then spent around an hour walking around and around the city trying to find somewhere nice we could have dinner. Yeah... No luck! So we found this small sushi place instead. After that we began to head back to [Riot!]'s Dad's place by using public transport. This included me stripping on public transport... Yep. You heard me!

Due to the freezing weather we had been having lately, I had been wearing multiple layers of clothing. I stripped off my jeans to reveal a pair of jeggings underneath (you guys seriously didn't think I'd strip down to underwear on public transport did you?!?!), only to cover them back up again with my pair of incredibly comfy Pitt pants. I then took off the two soaking wet jumpers I was wearing, leaving just a white singlet, before putting my spare shirt and jacket. Much warmer; I couldn't help but giggle at what I'd just done, in the back row of a public bus. Sure, I hadn't completely stripped... But I'm immature and found it way more entertaining than I should have!

It was then that I spent the next three night's at [Riot!]'s place. Watching a heck of a lot of Big Bang Theory; kicking his ass on Mario Kart Wii; having McDonald's for dinner one night, and this insanely yummy chicken with potato salad the next... Damn... His step-mother can cook! Anyways... On the final night, microphones and dance moves were brought out as we played We Sing and Michael Jackson Dance on the Wii. Watching [Riot!] sing along to Barbie Girl by Aqua made my night; but not as much as seeing eight of us singing and dancing enthusiastically along with MJ songs. Soon enough, it was Friday morning and I was public transporting my way back home and getting ready for work.

I'm finding it a little irritating that Subway appears to be giving me Friday and Saturday night shifts... Way to ruin any fun weekend night plans I may want to organise work! *Sigh* Do it for the money [Miss Invisible]... Just focus on the $$$.

So Friday night was spent working. Half of Saturday was spent me sleeping... Followed by a few hours of me sleepily staring at Facebook for goodness knows what reason... (I did do other things, but that's the only thing I can remember). I then went for a walk with my sister around the local oval multiple times; catching up on each other's gossip and spending some girl time together. Soon after that I was headed off to work again with a guy I shall dub [Gamer]. We had a relatively busy night, but still managed to crack jokes and discuss multiple topics which made the night enjoyable overall. I quite like my co-workers... They're all nerds of some kind, and are all relatively young; so I fit in quite perfectly there! :3

Aaaaaand, this leads us to today! Which would be a Sunday! I awoke at around 11am due to my sister coming in and saying that we're headed out to a ~relatively~ local place to walk around the lake discussing matters of not much importance; as is the usual with my family ^.^

I'm currently sitting in the lounge room of my home; already getting slightly stir crazy by being in the house and wanting to get out and socialise as much as I can before going back to Uni in three weeks time. Granted, I am incredibly strapped for cash at the moment; which makes it quite difficult to catch up with people... But it doesn't stop me from wanting too! Whether they be from Uni or from my original group: I want to have the best holidays ever. I'm 18 years old now. The amount of freedom this has given me is insane. I can go out practically whenever I want now (Given I'm not ruining family plans, and I tell my parents where I'm going and everything...). I'm seeing the world in a new way. I'm finally coming out of my shell and being the socialite I've always craved to be. I just want to grasp opportunity with both of my hands and run off with it while I can!!!

Right, before I get into some cheesy inspirational ramble that would inevitably make me gag; I'm going to end things here! :P Hopefully I'll have some interesting tales to tell in the future, but until then... PEACE OUT Y'ALL!!! Yeah, I don't know either...

Awesome-Sauce

Dear readers,

I, [Miss Invisible], would like to apologise for my abysmal and shocking blogging behaviour last post...

...

I can't even finish that. I'm laughing too hard and already knowing that it's impossible for me to maintain any sanity whilst writing blog posts! ^.^ I mean... Where else can one reveal the true craziness/personality of their heart and mind?

ANYWHO!

Hmm... Friday night was Nights At Rodanthe wasn't it..? Followed by me going to bed... Not much happened guys. I just slept. I can't ever remember my dreams (except the one I had this morning! Oh my gosh! First dream I have ever remembered! It was really weird... Not sure whether it's worth sharing or not... It might actually freak people out. It kinda weirded me out at one point... Man, I am a nutter), so I'm gonna assume that Friday night's dreams were amaze-balls.

Woke up on Saturday morning to Mum going "Do you wanna come to -insert local shopping centres here- with me?" To which I sleepily replied "Suuurrreee...."
Half a day's worth of shopping around later; I had myself a fluffy jacket, a cozy jumper, and uggboot-like shoes. As well as a new expansion pack for the The Sims 3. Bitches better not hate on me for playing this game, because I freaking love it! Thanks to [America!], my laptop is actually capable of running the game (for the first time, like, ever) so I've kinda been spending a lot of time on there...

I can't remember what I did for some part of the day, but it soon became close to 5:30pm; which is when my first Subway shift was due to begin. Let me just say this... I'm so very glad I had worked at a Subway before. The Saturday that I was working was known as Customer Appreciation Day. Every sub people bought; they could get a free one of equal or lesser price. This meant that there was a steady stream of people coming through the store all night; allowing no time for my boss to properly re-train me through things. Making the sandwiches was fine. But everything else was difficult due to it being a different layout, different register system, new way of making smoothies... I was slightly floundering; but I had the good ol' "Sorry! This is my first shift" excuse to throw at customers. I love it, because if you give customers a reason why you're taking a while/struggling with something; they instantly don't mind. They're like "No! That's fine!", or something like that... Hehe. Manipulating customers for the win!

So that shift ended at 10pm. As soon as I got home I went to bed as I had to get up early the next morning to pack for Uni before heading back to work at 9am. This shift proved how quiet the store I work at normally is. Barely any customers coming through. It was wonderful! It also gave me a chance to run through things I wasn't sure of with the boss after the previous night's shift. The shift ended at 2pm. Dad and sister then picked me up and we headed back to Uni; where we were greeted by two puppies. Mari belongs to the staff member on my floor. A white, adorable fluffball that is the definition of lapdog. Hunter is a brown little mongrel that would belong to a fellow floor resident, if her Dad hadn't said no... So he's named by her, and they're bonding; but he'll end up being adopted by someone else. Best 'welcome home' present though ^.^ Oh, those were the same two puppies that I procrastinated Plant study for early last week. They're two out of a litter of eight, and they have at least four different breeds in them... Making all of them look different to each other. It's just so much cute-ness! :3

The rest of Sunday I spent just chilling mostly... And playing The Sims 3... No regrets!!! I haven't played it in so long... Plus the fact that, I usually use the money cheat to get my sims the best house available and make them rich bitches basically. This time, I didn't do that. I moved them into a tiny apartment which cost them almost all of their money, and I've made them work for for more luxuries. I went from about 450 simoleons to around 20,000-25,000. Which isn't bad considering...

Yesterday I woke up just in time for lunch, then headed back to my room for more Sims... I played it all day pretty much. I played it to the point where I got a little sick of it, and so I'm currently not so fussed about playing it. (Hence why I'm blogging and contemplating starting on the fourth chapter of my fanfic...) [Riot!], don't get too excited. I still have no idea where I'm going with it; and the description is proving to be a pain to write :P

Anyways. So we come to today! I'm just cruising mostly. I looked through what I need to study for my Math exam tomorrow, and it's easy as... I'll go through the revision questions after dinner and maybe go to the PASS session tomorrow morning for a final overlook before it begins... Drinking lemonade, Facebooking, and talking to people till then! ^.^

So [Mr Awesome] wanted a 132 word paragraph on him in this blog... I can't guarantee that I'll get 132 words exactly, but if I go over he won't mind ^.^ Starting with a little back story... [Mr Awesome] and I met when I was in Year 11 and he was in Year 12 at my loverly high school. Most of the year was spent annoying and teasing the crap out of each other in Physics and Math classes. At the end of the year (not sure if he felt the same), I felt that we were friends; but I didn't expect us to maintain contact now that he had graduated. On the contrary, a few months later we began talking on Facebook. From then until now, we have kept up constant contact with each other. We used to talk more before he moved back to South Australia and made friends with [HorseGirl] (thanks to me!). But we still talk! Most of our bantering consists of us exclaiming how incredibly sexy we are to each other; as well as discussing all the finer things in life... And by that I mean being incredibly immature... But we're just amazing like that! ;) I'll end this paragraph by mentioning that [Mr Awesome] is an incredibly charming, funny, nice, considerate, and sexy guy; and that I was not told to say these things at all... ^.^

So the dream I had this morning... I can't remember the start of it annoyingly. I had it all remembered when I woke up, but yeah... The start escapes me now... Which is funny as it had nothing to do with the rest of the dream at all. It was random, then it transitioned into the other weird one. Please don't judge me on this dream... And I don't even wanna know what this could possibly 'mean'; as I'm just concerned I dreamt it in the first place.

Okay... All I remember is that it involved Eric Saade. This note is to all my friends who are shaking their heads right now: "Shuddup! I don't always dream about him okay?! Just because he's my favourite Swedish singer... And he's hot... And, whatever..."
Right so... The most I can remember is I was doing something... Not sure what. Then Eric just appears out of nowhere and insists that I follow him. Somehow within the next couple of seconds we had managed to transform into dogs. He was a
Siberian Husky, and I was a Maltese Terrier. We then ran for ages to all these different place, but we were being sneaky about it. I was carrying my handbag in my mouth, to which Eric told me to leave in some old guy's house at one point, to which I was like "ooh kay?" Running from place to place (and these were the most random places too. Country yards, broken down shacks, parks, etc...) trying not to get seen by anyone. At one point, some big as Samoyed dog saw me and went to attack me; but Eric bitch slapped it with his paw. It was kind of hilarious. Anyways; so eventually we make it to the beach at Glenelg in South Australia. This beach was my childhood, just saying... Ahem! Moving on. I don't remember the transition from dog back to human, but I was sitting on the beach in my bikini; waiting for Eric to come back from whatever he was doing. When he got back, he then explained that we needed to head back. I remember frowning at this because I was tired after the run we just did; then I kinda freaked out because Eric then temporarily morphed into the guy who runs the resident's program here at Uni. I was like 'What the heck? This is way too awkward! I can't dream about him! This is bad...' O.O. Thankfully, Eric came back and we started running back to where we came from (as dogs again). We arrive back, he snaps his fingers to some guy who comes back two seconds later with my handbag (humans again by the way); then the alarm woke me up.

So there you have it! My weird as dream, consisting of the incredibly sexy Eric Saade; which ended too soon for my liking... I was keen to see where on earth that boy was leading me too in the end haha; but alas, it was not to be...

I did have serious, in depth things I wanted to vent about on here; but I'm in too good of a mood right now to spoil it... So I might leave it for some future blog where I remember it and pour out my emotions in some pitiful way... Hehe. Until then, I'm either gonna go play The Sims or work on my fanfic. It's leaning towards Sims at the moment (sorry [Riot!]) ehehe.

Arrivederci!

Wow Oh Wow

HOLIDAYS!!! WOOOOO!!!

Oh wait... I have one more exam left... Hmmm... This just got awkward...

Ladies and gentlemen. You are reading a blog post that has been written by an authentic Plant Biology survivor. This is a rare opportunity. Grovel people. GROVEL!

I'm kidding guys... Geez! Why you take things so seriously?
Now to actually put some sense/normality into this blog post...

Tuesday I was up at 8am for breakfast followed by a study session before my Animal Welfare exam at 11:15am. 90 minutes to answer five short answer questions. Simple enough, yeah? Well, in a sense it was. The first couple of questions threw me as it was to do with sheep and pigs; the two animals I hadn't memorised as well as the other animals. The last three questions were a breeze though and, I will admit, I rather enjoyed answering them. What can I say?! Animals are my thang y'all.

Wednesday was spent studying for plants. Actually... More like... The first half was spent attempting to study, which just did not work at all (my study 'zone' seems to be after dinner from around 6pm-9pm...), and I spent longer at lunch than usual as a form of procrastination. After lunch, I attempted to study again. This lasted until about 3-3:30pm when I saw two fellow residents walking their new puppies outside. Quick as a flash I was outside playing and crooning over Warrior and Mari. Don't judge me! When you're studying for the worst exam to ever exist, and you see two adorable puppies (an inkling of what you want to do with your life); WHAT WOULD YOU DO?! :P

The puppies distracted me until dinner time... From 6-9pm I then studied in a frenzy. I collapsed into bed at 9pm after having an hysterical moment at around 8:30pm. It wasn't pretty. It involved me looking at the ten plant families (a minor part of everything we had to learn; yet so difficult to remember), and absolutely flipping out. I was mumbling incoherently, saying "WHAT!?" a lot, kinda laughing hysterically, pulling at my hair, and hyperventilating something serious. It was then that I realised I should send my trembling self to bed to wake up at 6am the next morning.

As much as I hated the early morning; it allowed me to have last minute study for an hour (which proved that I knew the families better than I thought I did, along with everything else), have breakfast, study for 15 minutes more, then head over to the gymnasium for the two hour exam.

The exam was easier than I expected it to be, thankfully, but the questions were still making me sit there and freak out. I ended up leaving one question completely blank as I hadn't been able to study that in depth in time for that topic; and the question that was related to the plant families? Well... They decided to choose Asteraceae. One of the very few families I was having the most difficulty remembering. As much as that cheesed me off to no end, I managed to be able to answer most of the question correctly. By that I mean; I had gotten the points of spot identification and ecology down, but I screwed up the floral formula. For the clueless ones; a floral formula is a simple way of describing the flower structure. For example: Asteraceae's floral formula is ⊕ or † Kpappus  C(4-5) A(5) G(2) or G0. But because Blogger is being stupid, kindly imagine a line connecting the C and A, as well as lines above the numbers next to the Gs.

⊕ or † refers to the plants symmetry. In this case, it can be either zygomorphic or actinomorphic. (In simple Biology terms, radial or bilateral. Yes, plants is backwards). I got this part right.
Kpappus is a weird one... K refers to the number of sepals (little green things under the petals), but Asteraceae demands to be different. A pappus is a tuft of hairs instead of sepals. Once again, plants are stupid; but I also got this part right.
C(4-5) refers to the number of petals.
A(5) refers to the number of stamens (male sexual parts. Oooh, things just got kinky in the plants department... I mean wut?). Anyways. When there is a line connecting the C & A, that means the petals and stamens are fused together. These last two parts were the parts I screwed up... >.<
G(2) or G0 refers to the number of carpels in the ovary. Carpels contain the ovules (eggs). If the lines are above the numbers (as is in Asteraceae) the ovary is inferior, and if the numbers are below the numbers; it's superior. I got this part right as well... Unfortunately, I don't think my lecturer will be nice when marking... =.=

Oh, and Asteraceae is the Daisy family. Bet you bitches didn't know that! Oh! Yeah... The daisy family... Which the main crop is lettuce... And has many noxious weeds... Plants. Y u no make sense?!

Heh... I just unintentionally gave you all a mini plant lesson... Heads up; if you couldn't understand that, you would have been pretty screwed for the exam. Jus' sayin' ^.^ That's the most basic part of plants.

So yeah... The exam sucked! YAY! Results come out on the 4th of July, so I'm just not gonna freak out over it until then.

The rest of yesterday and today was spent quietly celebrating. The noise policy is still in effect until the end of exams, so... As much as I wanted to run up and down the halls skipping and squealing in joy; I managed a brisk walk into my room where I then shut the door so I could turn up my music ~relatively~ loud and jump/dance around a little.

Which leads us to now... I am currently watching Nights In Rodanthe with my dear mother. We're getting into a habit of watching a movie every time I come home. Which, will now be every weekend... Ugh. That really frustrates me. Not the movie part so much; just the coming home every weekend part.

I love Uni. I love living there. Yes, I miss home. But that's after a while... Which is usually a couple of months. Even then, as soon as I come home; I last a day before wanting to sprint back to Uni again. I feel rather conflicted at the moment... I need the money, and I'm not about to stupidly give up the job at Subway; but a part of me is not a big fan of coming home every weekend...

Oh. Wow. Okay... Can barely write this blog as it's the insanely sad part of Nights In Rodanthe. Dammit Mum! Why did you have to put on a movie that messes with my emotions?! GAH! Since when have I become so feminine... Yick.
And now there are horses running along the beach... Way to change my emotional status from almost crying to 'Ooooh! Horses!!!'.. Yeah... I have a short attention span...

ANYWAYS! I am going to wrap this crazy crazy blog post... I would apologise to anyone I may have confused or bored the heck out of; but... I'm finding this way too entertaining to do so! ^.^

See ya later alligators ;)

~[Azzo]: I get cheeky at night. [Miss Invisible]: Oh I'm sure you do!~

Pinball or Pool?

Well HELLO!!! :D

So I'm trying to blog more often, but studying for exams is making it kinda difficult; so sorry for the lateness on this one!

Not much has happened this week really... Actually, screw that. A LOT has happened.

I believe I left you all hanging last Tuesday the 5th... Well, that night I went to choir rehearsal; as I do every Tuesday night... The difference with this one? We went to a hall in town that has the most amazing acoustics EVER! Well, I don't know about ever... But it's so much better than the dinghy room we normally rehearse in. There was only four of us there (the numbers die down so much during the second half of semesters; it's insane). [Tytanic], myself, and two other ladies; the 'leader' of the choir [Penham] and a fellow Eurovision-enthusiast, overall hilarious girl [Rachier] (I have my reasons for the names guys... Don't judge...).
For most of the rehearsal, we just played around with the songs we were learning. Standing at opposite corners of the room trying to hear each other and keep up with sound delays; coming together and changing keys for a song and seeing how far we can get before screwing up... About halfway through, [Tytanic] got frustrated (as most Aspergian's do, so I was in sympathy with him) and instantly reclined into his 'shell'. In other words, he went outside and just stood there until it ended, trying to get over the embarrassment and frustration he was feeling. The incident that caused this was when we were trying to get [Tytanic] onto the right note for the song. We were doing cannons (for those who don't know, cannons is when you all sing the same song; but one person starts first, with the second person starting a couple of lines after, etc etc) and we gave him the opportunity to have a cannon to himself. The only thing is. His pitch is... Well. Terrible.
I don't want to sound horrible, but it's true! We try to tell him to go down, he ends up going up; or just staying on the same note and lowering his head in the hopes that it would change things. It's slightly hilarious when he does things like that; but he's one of those singers that just sing however they want, without realising that they're now in a choir and need to know how to pitch themselves so we're all singing the same thing.

MOVING ON!

Once [Tytanic] had 'left', [Rachier] brought out one of the songs we're doing. Dona Nobis Pachem. One of the most simple songs ever, but so beautiful when sung. [Rachier] then started playing around with it, and what she came up with was amazing. I'd try explain it, but everyone would probably get confused unless you can understand the 'singing language' to put it simply :P

Wednesday and Thursday were both rather uneventful. Procrastinating study during the day, then cramming some in after dinner. Yeah... Boring times...

Come Friday! I woke up late, then headed to lunch. As soon as I stepped into my room to get to some study, the intercom went off saying that the Pitt merchandise we had ordered was at the Bos Club waiting to be picked up. Let's just say I have never moved so fast to get to the merch! I, personally, had ordered a pair of track pants (all merch is in Pitt colours; so green & bits of yellow, with black on the pants), a polo shirt and a hoodie with my name in Italian on the back. They are so comfy to wear!!! O.O Anyways... After I had collected them, I packed and studied a bit before heading home for the weekend. In my excitement to show my parents the new merch, it turns out I hadn't packed anything else to wear for the weekend; resulting in me wearing the merch everywhere that weekend. Not that I was complaining... PITT PRIDE AROUND MY HOME TOWN Y'ALL! :D Heehee.

So Saturday morning arrived and I headed over to the house of a Subway manager to go through three hours of induction. Immediately, I noticed that this string of Subway's are a lot more professional than the last one I worked at. I was the only person there who had previously worked at a Subway before, and had printed proof of having completed the compulsory online training modules (you have to have completed the basic 16 modules before you can start working/getting paid), so I was able to go home and text my manager straight away that I was ready for work! He told me that he'll give me shifts from next weekend onward, so I was happy.
My boss then added me on Facebook to add me to the group 'Work Amigos', which is a place where the roster is posted up for us to see if we haven't been into store recently; as well as a place where we can request people to take our shifts, let our manager's know we can't work certain dates, etc. The first thing I noticed on the page? Was another member of it... He used to go to my school a few years ago. We never really talked from memory, actually I find him rather annoying. Though this could be due to the fact that we also did work experience at the same place at the same time together. Me on Tuesdays, him on Wednesday's. He always had the days with the surgeries to watch, whereas me? I just cleaned the entire week. I'm going to call him [Quentler], in the hopes that my friends will remember who it is as well...

Which reminds me... Yay for inspiring my friend [Clearly Unfocused] to blog after not doing so for the past three to four months like myself... :3 And good to see that [Tenuto Tuo] has also recently posted. ^.^

Anyways! After the induction, I headed home briefly before heading back out to our local shopping centre. My sister and I were soon craving a Macca's soft serve cone, so we headed over. Who was working? [Carl], of course. But I chose not to cower and hide as I usually do. Instead, I stood confidently beside Mum; chatting away with my sister as she ordered. This may not seem like much to some people; but to me, it was a massive achievement. I'm slowly getting over him, and slowly getting on with my life; and I'm proud of what I did on Saturday, as it shows that I'm being the stronger person out of this.
The look on [Carl]'s face was one of typical shock and pain, followed by not looking at me the rest of the time I was there. When, out of work habit, he whirled around saying "Chicken and cheese burger?", he then realised that it was intended for my Mum. I saw him froze the tiniest bit before handing it delicately to her, as though touching/looking at her would be toxic. It was hilarious (and slightly disrespectful), but I saved my giggling for when I left the food court.

After that, we headed to the local liquor store; where they had a special of six bottles for $20. So of course, we looked like alcoholics when leaving... But it was worth it! :P
I did a teensy bit of attempted study before heading out to my favourite Mexican restaurant for dinner. It was only my brother, Mum and I; and between us ladies, we had a glass and a half of sangria. Which is this amazing fruity punch that I absolutely adore... Anyways! When we got home, Mum then decided to open one of our new bottles of champagne... Now... When champagne is opened, it can't be re-corked, so it has to be drunk... It was still only Mum and I... So we both had around two glasses of champagne as well while watching The Ugly Truth. Which, like every movie, is so bloody predictable. I'm waiting for a movie that will completely shock me and have an ending that I can't predict within the first five minutes of watching the movie; or even looking at the cover.

Sunday morning I woke up with the plan to study my heart out all day before treating myself with a visit to [Riot!]'s place that night. I don't know what it is... But I can't seem to study during the day. My study hours seem to be after dinner, when I'm cosy in my darkened room after gorging on food... No idea why, it's just the way it is. So, I procrastinated. All day long. Mostly by spending time with the sister. Until 6pm arrived, causing me to practically run out the door in anticipation.

I arrived at his house to be told that he was in the shower (he had been at History Alive earlier that day with his fencing school, giving demonstrations), and be approached by his step-father.

"So, you almost finished your first semester at Uni, right?"
"Yeah, just about! Just gotta get through the exams."
"Good! Then you can help me out... I have something to ask you..."
"Umm, okay?"
"Alright, well I'm trying to decide... ... Pool table, or pinball machine?"

This was followed by 10-15 minutes of him taking me to the two points of the house he would place either of them and began passionately describing me what he wanted to with each of them, but how he was really struggling to decide. I tried so hard not to laugh throughout the whole thing because I knew he was being serious; but the way he carried out the question/explanation was just so funny... Thankfully, I was saved by [Riot!] before his dog [Roxy] bowled me over out of excitement; which would have caused me to burst out in pent-up laughter.

The rest of the night was spent having a catch up session on what was happening, eating ice cream with chocolate sauce (Jealous?), and acting like cats... Because, well... Because we just can!
Before too long though, his Mum was driving me back home. Although I now have a job which means I'll be home practically every weekend; it doesn't mean we'll be able to see each other much. Half the time [Riot!] is at his Dad's, and we both have studies to keep on top of; as well as any other commitments we might have. Before last night, [Riot!] and I hadn't seen each other since last holidays. That's close to a couple of months. May not seem like much... But for someone like me, who's out at Uni with all her really close friends/family/boyfriend an hour away (or state in three of my best friend's cases), it's really hard. Yes, I am making friends here at Uni; but (especially during SWOTVAC), it's been hard to really get to know people at the moment. Even then, I highly doubt anyone could replace the amazing people back at home (or Adelaide) I have loved, do love and will love for many years to come.

With that sappy moment over (apologies, I didn't expect it...) it is now Monday! The day before my Animal Welfare, Behaviour and Handling exam. This exam, from what I've heard, is a walk in the park; so I'm not overly concerned. It's Plant Biology on Thursday that I'm flipping out over. Anyways... I'm currently procrastinating AWB&H study by doing this blog; though I highly doubt I'm going to get stuck into it once this is finished... I know me too well! ^.^

On a random side note. My best friend [Pinnuck!]/[HorseGirl] (I believe I've called her both in the past, I'm keeping it to [HorseGirl] now guys kay?) is currently on a flight headed to
Dubai with her friend. If she didn't live in South Australia, I would've seen her off; and possibly found a way to fit in her suitcase... But alas, I could not. Instead I am dedicating this paragraph to her by saying that I hope she has a fantastic time and to make it home safely! I'm sure both [Mr Awesome] and I would appreciate it ^.^<3

So... Yeah... Ummm... Ciao for now..? :3

Plants vs Tie Dye

Greetings!

It's 10am, waking up in the morning. Gotta be fresh, gotta be interviewed. (Sing it to the tune of Friday by Rebecca Black).

^ This basically sums up yesterday morning for me. I'm all cosy in bed when my room phone starts ringing incessantly. Causing me to get up and stumble over; barely awake and mumbling a "Hello?".
"Hi [Miss Invisible]! It's ___ from Subway! How are you?"
*Instant freak out/mini hyperventilation/suddenly awake/instant politeness*
"Hi there! I''m good! How are you?" <- In an instantly cheery voice.

So the next 10-15 minutes was spent on him giving me a phone interview and basically explaining what will be required of me, etc etc. From the sounds of it; I practically have the job, but I don't wanna get too cocky just yet!

He's planning on giving me 16 hours over Saturday's and Sunday's. Meaning I'll have to travel home from Uni every weekend. But for at least $160 a week..? I'll happily do it!
One downside is that I have to attend a compulsory induction this Saturday morning. The problem I have with this is that it means I have to go home the weekend before exam period... I was planning on staying at Uni and studying my backside off; instead I have to fight off distractions at home. Not difficult to do necessarily, but still a nuisance.

The rest of the day was relatively uneventful. I went to lunch. Came back. Procrastinated study way too much... I did some. But it was in bits and pieces. Eventually it came around to dinner; of which I did some study afterwards. Then it was a short Pitt meeting to basically reinforce the 24/7 no noise policy over the next three weeks (Yeah... If we're heard by our neighbours, we're too loud. This normally only occurs after 10:30pm, but during SWOTVAC & exams? It's 24/7. And if you're caught? There's no warning. It's immediately an incident report that's sent off to the guy who runs Halls. O.O) and, of course, food!!! A few Doritos later, I was talking to a new found good friend of mine (can't think of a nickname yet) for an hour before another friend [America!] came and chastised me; before sending me off to my room to go study.

I came back and was feeling tired, so was not planning on getting much study done... That was until [Riot!] completely shocked me by earnestly demanding I do study. My shock then turned into a want to study just to appease him... It was weird guys, but it worked! I managed to write notes on one plant family before succumbing to my tiredness and going to bed. I guess that's what happens when your boyfriend decides to change his methods of attempting to get me to study... ^.^

Today, my alarm didn't go off so I awoke at 11am, much to my annoyance. I had wanted to attend a session on plants to help get my head round it, but by the time I woke up it was over. I, instead, went to lunch. Then I came back and formed a sketchy, possible timetable for next semester's classes. (If it works, I get Monday's off... Yew!). By the time that had finished, and announcement rang over the intercom saying that the recreation club is open and there's tie dying going on. So, of course, I grabbed a pillow case and my lab coat; and raced on over. An hour and a half later, I'd made a new friend (We have the same last name... How is that not a basis for friendship? :P), my legs were splattered in die, and I had a rainbow pillow case & lab coat. I'm pretty sure I didn't tie the elastic bands tight enough around them, so I most likely won't have white lines where they went... But... It'll be rainbow! I'm winning regardless ^.^

Which reminds me... Might wanna go and fetch them off of the line...
Nope. Still soaking wet... The weather isn't exactly fantastic drying weather though. Grey skies, freezing cold but not much wind... Blech.

Anyways! So I'm currently warm and cosy in my rabbit-hole of a bedroom. My legs are still splattered with dye & my fingers are stained as well... I've heard that this stuff doesn't come out for a couple of weeks at least... Oh well! It was worth it ^.^ Dinner's in an hour, then I'm going to a Hall in town for choir as it's designed to provide the best acoustics... So keen!!! Then I'll come back home and nail the last two plant families so I can start studying the rest of the darn subject over the next three days before the weekend.

The Storm Is Over

Three months is a long time... I know... I've been way too distracted by everything at Uni, so yeah... I'm sorry mmkay!!!

Oh! And I was looking through previous posts and noticed that I changed a couple of people's nicknames without any forewarning so I'm just going to clear this up...
[Sasquatch] and [vs49688] are the same person. I shall refer to him only as [Sasquatch] from now on though.
Also, [That Dancer Chick] and [Dancer] are the same girl. I must have gotten lazy...
Sorry for any confusion guys!

I do believe that the last time I blogged, I had left you at the end of my second week of University; when I was a bright-eyed, innocent Fresher. Now, I'm just under a month away from mid-year holidays; with exams starting next week.

A lot has happened over the past three months, but only the major events stick out in my mind; and there was no way I'm stating absolutely everything I have done! O.O

Okay, well... Pretty much from where I left off, up until now, I've been going to classes like a good Uni student. Being trodden on by a horse here, flipping a sheep there, and chasing after wild mice everywhere... Animal Biology has been an easy subject that I think I've done well in, same with Basic Mathematics and Animal Welfare, Behaviour and Handling. It's Plant Biology that I'm really struggling with... I just can't seem to get my head around the darn subject!

Since the Scribble party; I didn't really attend that many parties until recently... I've been attending a lot more parties, and I think it's because I'm starting to catch on to the Uni's atmosphere and am beginning to turn into more of a typical 'Pittling'. ~Those who live in Pitt are known as Pittlings.~
Don't get me wrong! I'm still 100% not keen on getting drunk or tipsy for that matter (a story later on will let you know why); I'm just becoming more outgoing, more fun-loving, more wanting to have a good time sort-of-thing...

A major party I attended earlier this year was themed UV. Basically, make yourself glow as much as possible. They extended the club, fit in some UV lights, and the night was just so much fun... The next one I attended was themed Gym Junkies & Sport Enthusiasts. That was the night where I met a guy (whom I shall dub [Regal Pain], I have my reasons ;P) who I went on a Macca's trip and watched movies all night with... Of course, being University, all of Pitt took this as so much more than what we did... But a friendly reminder that I have a boyfriend to whom I'm devoted too quickly put them in their place.

Come As Ya Mum was another theme of a party that I went too. Dressed as a seductive school teacher/secretary person wearing 3D glasses (like a boss), I headed down to the common room to meet up with everyone; including a new found friend of mine. I'm calling him [Master Dance], and he doesn't actually study where I am. He's a friend of a fellow Pittling friend of mine; and spends most of his time studying in NSW. When I met him, he wasn't exactly sober... But he added me on Facebook the next day, and we've been talking almost non-stop ever since (this party would have been around a month or two ago). He's an incredible guy who I get along with way too well with! ;P

The most recent party I attended was Dinner Under The Stars on Thursday night... (The Thursday just gone).

This party was insane!

It started with pre-dinner drinks at 6pm in the Foundation Building. The theme was Masquerade (LOVE) so it was amazing to see close to 400 people gathered all looking stunning in suits/dresses and different types of masks. There were welding masks, $2 masks, etc... Some of them were hilarious and some of them were just amazing!
All alcohol provided at the pre-dinner drinks and dinner was free. Which, of course, meant that people were drunk by dinner, or at least afterwards... This is the story I mentioned earlier as it turned out that I got myself tipsy that night. I had a glass of champagne at pre-dinner, and was sipping on wine throughout dinner; and I didn't realise that that would have set me over. The club was after dinner and I didn't drink anything while at the club, but (being so new at the alcohol game), because I'm a 'lightweight'; it affected me through almost the entire night. As normal as I felt; I apparently stumble more than usual, over-exaggerate my hands and head when talking, and flirt. A lot. I kicked myself mentally when I realised how far gone I was.
I don't know how people can handle being tipsy/drunk! I can't handle not being able to fully control my thoughts, actions and words... And for those who get exceedingly drunk, I like to remember what I did the next day! Most people at my Uni give me funny looks whenever I state my views; but I don't care. Thursday night reminded me to watch myself from now on when it comes to parties... Just stick with the one drink [Miss Invisible]!

Anyways. During dinner, the MTV video's were presented. This was a competition where each Hall put together a video to a song of their choice representing the Hall as though it was an actual music video. Pitt did ours to Good Feeling by Flo Rida. We changed the lyrics, and had a blast recording it. Pitt came third, above Thynne; below Shelton and Riddell who won. I will admit. Riddell's video was amazing, and the song is so catchy that half of Pitt goes around at the moment whistling/humming/singing it. I don't know the name of the song, but it was Alice in Wonderland themed and was just... Fun to watch!

On a random note, Pitt offered a Southbank trip to those interested about a month ago; and I was not about to turn that down! I spent the day chilling at Max Brenner's, going to the sushi train, and walking around and around the markets at least six times through. I just love the Southbank markets... No matter how many times you go through there's still something that catches your eye!
That day, I bought the mask I wore to Dinner Under The Stars, a bracelet, as well as a pair of pants and a gypsy-like skirt from this wonderful woman who we basically became friends with because we kept on coming back to her stall in particular ^.^
The next day, the woman sent a friend and I a challenge to get 10 customers within a week and she'll give us a free pair of pants each. We ended up with about 30 by the end of that same day; and the order of pants arrived two days ago. All 40 pairs! (Including the free ones). I am currently wearing one of them (I bought another one in the order so I now have three pairs heehee); and they are the most amazing things ever! Roomy, comfortable, colourful... It's orgasmic! :P
For those absolutely confounded by what I am saying, or would like to know more. I have the Facebook page right here -> https://www.facebook.com/pages/Indian-BlissSimply-Stunning-Styles/282178241801009?ref=ts

You know [Dancer]'s boyfriend who I hadn't yet decided a name on? I threw around ideas like [YESman] and [AwwYeah!], but I've picked a new one... [BrotherBear]. I'll explain why.
[Dancer] and I have been best friends almost as long as I have lived in Queensland. But things over the past three months have turned things sour to the point where I have no idea what's going on anymore.
To put it simply. [Dancer] and [BrotherBear] crashed and burned. It turns out that my initial thoughts of "Wow. [BrotherBear] is really good for [Dancer]. Maybe he can set her on the right track." were completely off...
I'm not going into the story of what happened on here. Mostly because most of my information I received from [BrotherBear], and it's their business not mine to post online.
This situation made me feel closer to [BrotherBear]. I felt so protective over him, and was outraged at what he was telling me that she was doing to him; that I lashed out at her over Facebook. I regretted it instantly, of course, but it was too late. Her Mum, who I have considered to be my second QLD Mum for years; sent me a message basically reducing me to a piece of dirt on the side of the road. The irritating thing is, I know [Dancer] is most likely not entirely to blame for everything that has happened; but it's not like she's perfect... As much as her Mum continues to claim it.
To sum it up simply, I barely talk to [Dancer] anymore. I don't know if that's because she's trying to get me out of her life, or she spends too much time dancing/youth grouping/studying/whatever... And the only time [BrotherBear] tends to talk to me is whenever he has a problem with [Dancer] and wants me to fiercely back him up; which I have a tendency to always do... I really want to catch up with everyone these holidays, but at the same time; I'm apprehensive about it all.

Which reminds me... [Carl]! Always a good story going on with us, aye? Well... Up until a month ago we were fine and dandy. Talking as friends, having fun, whatever... Until he discovered that [Riot!] and I had celebrated our one year anniversary.
He got pissed off at me, of course, and was basically demanding how that could have happened since "we were together at the time", etc etc.
I had broken up with [Carl] at that point, but because of all the confusion, hurt and the fact that [Carl] just wouldn't leave me alone; he must have assumed we were together that entire time...
Basically, he was sulking and the last thing I said to him was "Whatever [Carl]" and then we stopped talking, and haven't talked since.
The awesome thing is though, this is the first time I haven't been affected by it one bit! I'm so over all the crap he's given me, that I was laughing my head off at his immaturity rather than getting upset myself that he had stopped talking to me.
Maybe it's Uni distracting me that's helping; but it doesn't matter. That bitch is out of my life, and I love it!

What else is there to share... Hmmm... Macca's is the lifeline of this place. It's quite funny actually. If ever the food was terrible at the dining hall, or if people are just hungry in between mealtimes... I hear "Macca's run!" at least 2-3 times a day, every day here. It's a five minute car trip down the road, or around a 20 minute to half hour walk... (I've never walked it so I wouldn't know). One Macca's trip I went on, resulted in a high-spirited race back home. Me, wedged between the driver and a friend in a Ute; and four girls in a car who had a head start and ended up winning. This race involved swerving so we couldn't overtake them, flipping birds out of car windows, parking in front of the entrance to the car park so we couldn't get passed, for us to just drive over the curb... It was way too much fun! Hehe.

I've joined the choir here, and it's fun! No particular way of standing or singing. Basically, just do it however you want and have a blast meanwhile. A late comer (known henceforth as [Tytanic]) voiced his want to improve his singing and be able to catch up on learning the songs; and I decided to help him.
We met up early one time and went through the songs. He has terrible pitch and completely disregards the fact that he has to follow the music on the page, not whatever he feels like singing. As much as that irks me, it's not my major problem with him.
From what he's told me, he has mental issues as well. ADHD, a little bit of Asperger's, a little bit of something else... I don't know, he just has a few things.
I think I was one of the only people offering him a hand of friendship and he took it willingly. But what did it mean for me? It meant listening to him drone on about how he "can't get his mind straight" and him constantly asking me how I managed to do it. I don't think he understands that that's not something you can just ask... It took me years of struggling to get where I'm at now, and I'm still nowhere near perfect. Just by me telling him my efforts, doesn't mean it works for him! He needs to find his own method, and my methods are personal to me anyway; so it was quite blatant of him to request such a thing from me.
What are his current methods of dealing with his problems? Alcohol... Dinner Under The Stars? There was the usual Wednesday night party the night before, as well as Vet Smoko on the Friday night. Three parties in a row to which he attended all three and drank so much. Friday night caused him to wake up in a hospital the next day.

This. Disgusts. Me.

Drinking just to forget his problems. It insults me personally. I went through similar to problems to him; possibly even worse than what he's dealing with. Yet I never thought twice about suicide, drinking, smoking, or drugs... All of which (except drugs) [Tytanic] looked to as a solution.
Yesterday was the last straw for me and I basically told him I was no longer going to give him singing lessons and be his friend if he was going to continue acting this way. It was harsh, but it was truthful; and he sent me a message not long after telling me how "I'm a genius" and how me being truthful will eventually help him in the long run and he was going to try not drink and everything... I struggle believing him, but if he does ever manage to clean up his act; I'm willing to be there as a friend again.

So that's basically all the major events that have happened over the past three months. Now I'm sitting in my room at the start of SWOTVAC, procrastinating Plant Biology study by writing this...
For those who don't know, SWOTVAC stands for Studying WithOut Teaching VACation. Basically, we have no lectures/tutorials/practicals for an entire week. Instead, it is used for study before the exam period starts next week.
I only have three exams, and two of them I'm not stressing over too much as I'm sure it won't be difficult to pass them. It's PB that worries me most... I just need to pass, then hope that my other subjects will bring it up; and next semester I can get that GPA of 6 so I can get into Veterinary Science... Here's hoping!!!

Until next time fellow blog-lings ;D

Hit It Head On!

Okay, so it's been another month... Laziness prevailed yet again! I apologise :3

So... I'm currently sitting in my room at the Uni where I'm living!!! :D It's a pretty neat room considering... I mean, comparing to rooms my parents had to deal with when they were involved in the RAAF; this is luxury! :P

Since the last time I blogged, not much had happened in the two weeks succeeding it; but the last two weeks have been jam packed! I shall begin from Tuesday the 21st of February, which is the day before I moved out.

Tuesday 21st:
I used the day to pack everything into two suitcases, and three bags... With plenty of loose stuff unable to fit as well! But they were things like a bar fridge, fan, etc... At around 4pm, I headed over to [Riot!]'s to return a couple of his books and spend the last hour or so with him before Mum arrived to take me, and the rest of the family, out to dinner. This was both a celebration of Mum's birthday, and me going away. From memory, I believe I spent the rest of the night in my room; savouring the last few hours I had left with my Queen size bed! :P

Wednesday 22nd:
MOVE IN DAY!!!
6am wake up, with the next hour and a half spent getting myself decent; as well as packing last minute things into the car along with the rest of it all. Waved off the siblings, and headed off to the Uni around 7:30am.
We arrived at around 8:40am (20 minutes early) and headed up to the building where we told to go for receiving the room key and directions to the rooms. We headed up the stairs and were greeted by people dressed in either red, blue, green or purple. The colourful, friendly people directed us to a room where they took my photo (for database purposes) and gave me my key. Returning outside, they asked what house I was staying in; to which I replied with Pitt. The people in green gave a cheer, and one of them came forward to take my parents and I to Pitt Hall.
When we arrived, my parents and I had three hours until Lunch to do whatever. So we threw everything onto the tiny standard single bed, and organised a few of the things into semi-piles. We then walked around the entire campus, finding the main places of interest. We sussed out the new gym and pool facilities (that I get for free!) which were pretty schmancy; followed by the Post Office where I got a PO box for people to send me mail in. Other places such as the library and the bookshop were also checked out! :P

On returning back to my room, I met a girl who was moving into the room across the hall from me. We introduced ourselves as my Dad and her Mum were having the "I've seen you before?" discussion. Turns out they knew each other from work! 'Tis a small world...
Anyways, so we made good friends and when it hit 12:30pm we headed over to the Dining Hall for the free lunch held for parents and new residents. After more introductions, and the usual chit-chat; the head of the Halls of Residence made a speech that I can't remember what it was about... It was most likely general information mostly targeted at parents, but relevant to residents as well. It was then where my parents and I said our final goodbyes, as we residents had an information session separate to the one the parents had to go to.
The new residents gathered in what I now know as the Main Lecture Theatre; where we had a welcome speech from members of the Res Club and Res Staff. For those who don't know the difference between them; the Res Club are in charge of the organisation of all social activities for Halls throughout the year, wheareas the Res Staff are a handful of students from each Hall who are in charge of mentoring us newbies, as well as helping out with minor issues such as security, loss of keys, snakes, that sort of thing... Yes! There are plenty of critters wondering about here. And there has already been a snake spotted by my hall, but thankfully it's over by the third Pitt block; not the second which I am in. :3
They ended the speech with the Res Club and Res Staff performing a dance for us. Little did I know at the time, that that was to be our "Fresher Dance". We are referred to as freshers, and every single time the song Set It Off by Timomatic comes on; everyone has to stop whatever they are doing and do the dance. No exceptions! And yes, this dance involves thrusting movements, doing tiger claws and saying "RAH!", Elvis moves, Mick Jagger moves, plus more... When doing it with other people though, it's actually quite fun. :3
Once we had learned our Fresher dance and played a couple of introductory games; we headed down to the oval to play Watermelon Touch. <- Awesome game!!!
Okay, so as it sounds; it is a normal game of Touch Football... Only using a watermelon instead of the normal ball. I didn't play the game of touch myself (as I barely would have been able to lift those massive things...); but that didn't stop me from participating in the watermelon fling between Halls.
See, as the watermelons are so heavy; within the first couple of seconds it's been dropped, making it break into smaller pieces. The biggest piece is used to continue play with; as residents that aren't playing (if they want too) run onto the field and grab any pieces left over. They then take them back to the area where they were seated, and the attack of the watermelon begins! I personally managed to land a couple of pieces on heads so I was quite proud of myself; as well as not getting overly sticky myself! ;D
Once every Hall had versed each other (pretty sure no one scored...); we headed back to our rooms for a quick shower before meeting back in the common room. It was then that we were presented with garbage bags for a Garbage Bag Formal dinner. Me, lacking in creativity, opted for a simple black dress with a purple tie and anklet; as well as a green belt. Other people had done some pretty awesome stuff with their garbage bags that made me feel quite "plain jane" next to them! :P
Dinner was good, and was interrupted with the MTV videos each Hall presented last year as the cultural part of the competition for House Cup. They explained to us that the same will be required of us this year so we should start brainstorming ideas; this was then followed with the Fresher dance which I struggled with due to the limiting movement of the garbage bags.
About an hour after dinner, a Bright, Tight & Sparkly themed party was held at the club on campus. I didn't have anything overly bright, tight, or sparkly... But I did have my bright orange 'Fresher vest', which did the job. ~Every Fresher received a bright orange safety-like vest which says O-Week, Hit it Head On! on the back; and we had to wear it all week up until 3pm Sunday.~
Seeing as it was the first day and I didn't know anybody, I only ended up staying for an hour before I headed back to my room; going to bed at around 10:30pm. As early as that was, I struggled falling asleep due to the new bed; and it turned out that I needed as much sleep as I could get! ~You'll understand in the next paragraph~

Thursday 23rd:
Now... There are speakers in every single room within the Halls. All connected with the same PA system. So, here I was happily asleep, dreaming about whatever... When at 4:30am a horn was being blown over the speaker in my room; as well as the rest of Pitt.
*BRRRRTTTT* My impression of the sound of a horn...
"Good morning Pitt! It's time to go do some aerobics! Get dressed, put some shoes on, and let's go!"
*BRRRRRTTT* *Sounds of other Pitt staff running from door to door, banging on them*
"Come on [Miss Invisible], wake up!!!" *Bang bang*
"Come on Pitt, let's go let's go let's go!"
Shocked, I practically fell out of bed and scrambled to get clothes and shoes on so I could stop all the noise from happening. ~Sensitive hearing at 4:30 in the morning was not a good mix!~

It continued for another five to ten minutes while other people were clearly having trouble getting out of bed; but thankfully I got out pretty quickly and escaped to the common room where I was greeted by faces that probably looked similar to mine...
Once everyone had congregated, the way-to-energetic Res Staff led us to a grassy area where we waited for the other three Halls to grudgingly meet up with us. Once everyone was there, a gym junkie from my Hall led us through about 30-40 push-ups, burpees, sit-ups and starfish jumps; in blocks of ten so we don't die too much... The grass was nice and wet due to it raining throughout the night, so the push-ups and sit-ups were a pleasure to do... After making us do that, they made us do the Fresher dance; before letting us go with grins on their faces, saying that they're cooking a breakfast for us at 7am.
Considering it was about 5am at this point, I didn't much see the point in going to sleep for an hour and a half, only to never want to get up again. So, instead, I kept myself entertained on the computer; before heading down to a breakfast of sausages, bacon and eggs.
A couple of hours later I was heading off to seminars and checking out the Market Day that was being held. Casually walking past a stall and doubling back in horrific shock as you realise that it's a sexual health awareness stall with objects on display that scarred my vision and thoughts for a while... Let's just say, Uni is very much different to high school!
At around 2pm, I headed back to my room and ignored the speakers as our Pitt rep told everyone that a pool party was being held; and instead went to sleep. Waking up nice and refreshed for dinner, then heading back to my room to prepare for an early night. A Casino Royale themed party was held, but after the previous night; I didn't bother.

Friday 24th:
Had a nice lovely sleep in before heading out with my new found friend [Snoopy] (the girl who I met on the first day) to arrange business such as attending a couple more seminars, buying anything we didn't previously have in the bookstore, etc. At around 5pm, the speakers informed us that there was to be a Hall Crawl starting at 5:30pm.
Now [Snoopy] told me, at the time, that she heard it might be similar to what's known as a "Pub Crawl". Such events normally consist of drinking at one pub, then going to another one, and another one, and another one; pretty much resulting in a lot of people being drunk off their faces incredibly quickly. So, terrified, I went down to the common room just to see whether it was that or not; otherwise I would have retreated back to my room faster than you can say "Uni!".
Thankfully, it had nothing to do with alcohol at all... There were different activities being held at each Hall, and groups were to travel between them; spending 45 minutes at each one.
The first one I went to was Riddell. Inside, in their (*Cough*Puny*Cough*) common room, they had the TV show Scrubs playing; but I opted to go to one of the outside activities. One was a game of Poison Ball, the other (which I spectated) was a couple of tarps on the ground covered with soap and water; in the form of a 'Slip and Slide'. I was incredibly tempted to do it, but I was running low on clothes as it was, and didn't want to deal with a disgusting Fresher vest for the rest of the week (we had to wear them regardless. Even during the pool party the previous day, Freshers had to wear them in the pool).
After Riddell, we travelled to Thynne. Here they were holding a game of
Signs for those who didn't want to brave spectating, or participating in the other two activities. One was a tin of spaghetti which had red frogs in there. Participants having to find them with their mouth only. The second consisted of jugs of blue milk, and the participants competing in a Boat Race. I missed the first one, which from what I heard had nasty after effects in some people, but I watched the second one; where nothing interesting happened except this one girl threw half of her leftover milk at this guy who was making sexist comments. It was the best thing ever guys.

Next stop was back to Pitt and only inside games were being played there. In one room was Wink Murder and Bang!, then at half time we swapped to play Knights, Mounts and Cavaliers. I won the game of Bang!, so I had the pleasure to be the detective of Wink Murder where there was three murderers. =.= Let's just say, I failed miserably! Then with K, M & C; I got out after the first couple of rounds, but what I found hilarious was that I got out the round before the Res Staff started to make things interesting and call out sex positions instead of the usual three options... The look on the Freshers' faces was classic and most of them were incredibly hesitant. The game ended pretty quickly after that, and we proceeded to watch a dance off between two Res Staff members, followed by them playing Set It Off and us having to do the FD. <- Acronyms for the win!
The last Hall for the night was Shelton. Inside was a mini obstacle course where Pitt and Shelton versed each other with teams of four. Outside was a doughnut eating contest (they were hanging on strings, and couldn't use hands), and an International Guess-The-Food competition-like thing. I participated in the obstacle course, watched the last doughnut eating contest where one guy looked like he was eating the string as well as the doughnut... And I made it in time to watch the last Food one which only allowed International people in that round as they served up Vegemite. The blindfolded contestants were throwing around ideas, but it was my Texas neighbour who exclaimed "It's bloody Vegemite!" as soon as the spoon touched his lips; throwing it away from him almost immediately.
After the last contest, everyone was brought inside to receive a paddle pop ice-cream. Then, of course, they played Set It Off... At this point, most people had opened up and were beginning to eat their ice-creams, like myself... But! When the song comes on we have to dance! So we did! Just holding our ice-cream in one hand and whenever moves allowed our hands were not being used in a dance move, most people were licking their ice-creams to ensure it didn't melt. It was quite difficult, and I was thankful when it was over; but it was still hilarious!
By the time the Hall Crawl had finished, it was 8:30pm. So, laughing and discussing the night's events, we made our way back to our respective Halls and rooms; where most people then got ready for the Hats, Boots n' Boxers party. Again, I did not wish to attend. A part of the reason could be that I do not possess a hat, or boxers... But the same reason as the previous night still applied.

Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th:
I combined the weekend because not much happened until Sunday night. So didn't see the point in having separate ones... Hehe.
ANYWAYS! Saturday was spent just chilling in my room mostly... With [Snoopy] popping in here and there to provide me with random stories, or information about her much loved sport; NRL. *Shudder* I listen to her, for the sake of being a good friend. But my insides are dying every time she mentions it! :P

And Sunday was spent pretty much the same way. Just using up the internet before it was refreshed for the start of semester. Though Sunday was the day that all returning residents were moving in. This also marked the day where the division would occur between returning residents and Freshers. Some Freshers interact with the RRs here and there, but we mostly stick to ourselves now; as we all know each other really well from the first week of activities.
The Dining Hall was packed that night, and it wasn't made any easier when they played Set It Off, to which the Freshers groaned. Half the Dining Hall was dancing, and the other half was watching on in amusement; as they would have had to do the same thing last year. Only a different dance to a different song.
After dinner, everyone was getting changed into white shirts and grabbing markers for the much awaited Scribble Party. By this time, I had found myself a group of new buddies to hang out with; so I attended this one with enthusiasm. [Snoopy] was the first to attack my shirt by drawing a big Snoopy on the back (hence why her nickname is now Snoopy (and not just in the blog world)). I didn't get as much written as other people did, but looking at the content of some of the things written; I'm glad the worst I got was "Tits from Pitt", "I'm a Pitt Bitch", and "Open for All". Yes... Uni is a charming place.
The Res Staff had sworn themselves to an alcohol-free week at the start of O-Week, but the Scribble Party meant the end of that oath. Therefore, most of the Res Staff, and returning residents were pre-drinking before we had even reached the club. Which made for a very interesting atmosphere. After a 45 minute wait to get into the club (people got there early so they could guarantee a spot in there; as there was to be a lock-out that night), we got in there and I had a good night!
I tried a Vodka Cruiser for the first time, and I took an hour to drink it; much to the annoyance of one of my friends who quite likes to drink! But, it's my choice. And I have no idea how quickly I can consume alcohol without becoming tipsy or drunk; and I didn't want to risk it with classes starting the next day. We didn't dance, but we all hung around chatting and laughing along with random people who would come and chat for a bit, before heading off again. The only concerning factor was that people were buying pitchers of alcohol (as in small jugs), and drinking straight from them. All I could think was "Oooh! You are going to have a nice headache in the morning...". As it was, my Texas neighbour told me the next day that he spent $120 in that one night. Thankfully he saved up a fair amount of cash before coming up here!
We ended up leaving around 10pm, as that was the time when things were looking like they were going to go downhill; and we all headed to our respective rooms. I didn't plan on staying up much longer; so I set my alarm, got dressed, and pretty much just crashed on the bed! :3

Monday 27th:
FIRST DAY OF CLASSES!
Okay, so I am studying four subjects this semester.
Animal Biology; Plant Biology; Basic Maths; and Animal Welfare, Behaviour and Handling.
My timetable is pretty awesome in that four days out of five, the average time I finish for the day is 1pm. Only on Wednesday do I finish at 4pm; but I also get to sleep in that day so SCORE! Anyways. On Monday's agenda I had my first Animal Bio lecture, followed by my first Maths lecture.
The first hour of AB (starting at 9am) was introductory, then the next hour was spent on the lecturer going over topics I did in Year 11 and 12; making it rather difficult to stay focused. The Maths lecture was only an hour long, consisted of only an introduction, and finished at 12pm.
I spent the rest of the day organising slides to be printed the next day. Which is probably the worst day out of my timetable.

Tuesday 28th:
An 8am start with two hours of AB came first. It was more revision, but every now and again something would crop up that I never learnt in high school.
At 10am, my first Plant Biology lecture began. Normally the timetable goes: 1hr PB lecture, 1hr PB tutorial, 1hr PB lecture. But because the lecturer had no tutorial prepared for the first week; we just did a 2hr lecture. First hour was spent as introduction; and the second hour was spent on Floral Morphology. Don't ask me what that means, because I have no clue. Nor did I barely understand what she was saying half the time.
"Learning Botany is like learning a new language!"; said the lecturer in the introduction. She was correct. There was classifications within classifications, with so many names for so many things... I swear almost every word had "ae" or "eu" or some other ridiculous ordering of vowels! I was sitting there going D': I'm gonna fail this course... Of course, [Snoopy] was sitting there like "Oooh! I get most of this!". She's studying plants so her interest is a big boost for her! :P Oh well, she can help me out... Hehe. So we finished at 12pm, instead of 1pm which we will be the rest of semester.

Wednesday 29th:
Only had a Math lecture today! Practicals aren't starting until Week 2, so my AB prac that runs from 1-4pm wasn't on. I had a nice lie-in and headed to my 10am Math lecture for two hours where all we were learning about was fractions, decimals, and the BOMDAS rule. Everyone had to get these things called Clickers so we can answer questions out lecturer puts up on a slide, and it does a poll as to what percentage selected which answer (multiple choice); and which answer is correct.
That had to be the most fun lecture of the week. Our Indian lecturer is attempting to learn all of our names (there's at least 250 of us), he teaches us "Indian ways" of working out different Maths topics, and he just tries to make the lectures fun! Which, considering it's Maths, is actually working so far! (Or is it only cause it's been fractions..?). Hehe. Tw hours later, I was walking out thoroughly entertained and relaxed as I had nothing to do for the rest of the day.

Thursday 1st:
9am brought on my first two hour Maths tutorial. We had to split into groups of five, pick a group leader, and work on a worksheet for the whole two hours. Week two brings on weekly assignments which we have to work on together, but as it was fractions, I don't think the lecturer saw the point in doing one for the first week! :3 I really like the group I'm in. We're a funny bunch, and one of our members is pretty sure he's already done this course at another Uni; so he was helping us out if we had issues, and was getting quite passionate about it! At first it was cute, then it got plain annoying hearing nothing but his voice after awhile. No offence to him or anything!
So after the two hours were up (the hours go by quite quickly actually... It's amazing), I had lunch then retreated back to my room as the PB practical wasn't on.

Friday 2nd:
Woke up incredibly tired, but excited for my first AW,B&H lecture starting at 8am. Normally this lecture goes for two hours; but today it only went for one. It was an introductory hour with manual sign on for the practical at the end. Man... The sign on was insane!
Okay, so normally this is done electronically, but there were issues that couldn't be sorted, blah blah blah; which resulted in the need for manual sign on. When our lecturer brought out the papers, the tension in the room was almost unbearable. All eyes were focused on those papers, and the desire to get the morning practical. (You see... Nobody wants to stay back on a Friday afternoon for a 2-5pm prac, when they can leave so much earlier with a 10am-1pm one!). As soon as he started moving to place the papers at different points of the room, all hell broke loose.
People (including myself as I was fourth row back) were jumping over the chairs for a direct way to the bottom; while others closer to the sides ran down the stairs either side. I got to one of them pretty quickly, but was still on the outside of a group of four-five girls bent over it, furiously writing. Annoyingly, they were also writing down the names of the girlfriends who were yelling out; but after a few minutes I finally managed to wedge my hand in to write the first two letters of my name upside down. When more room cleared, I slowly wrote my name upside down (rather neatly I must say so myself, heh) while other people were fighting for the last few spots (I got in with about four spaces left?). It wasn't until the crowds finally disappeared that I could finally write down my student number, and go find the group of people I was in the lecture with to ask what session they got. Everyone I know got a morning session, except for my Texas neighbour who chose to get an afternoon session as he didn't need it like some people did. (Some people had Math tutorials, or family reasons, etc.). He isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so it didn't matter to him so much.
Once again, because no practicals were on, I had the rest of the day off!

Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th:
[Snoopy] had gone back home for the weekend, so I was left relatively on my own this weekend just gone. I did have a few people I could have hung out with, but it was more difficult knowing what they were up too when they don't live right across the hall from me! :P
I spent the weekend in my room, plantsitting [Snoopy]'s Venus Fly Trap (which was kinda cool...) and writing this up! This blog has taken a total of three days (I wrote a bit on Friday) to write... Not non-stop! More because I could't hold my motivation and focus very long. Let's just say, this blog has been written in very small blocks over two whole days...
When I wasn't blogging, I was playing A LOT of Spider Solitaire. This game bores me after a while, yet I still play it..? Over and over again! Haha.

So it is now Sunday night! I am about to prepare myself for bed so I can plenty of rest for AB and Maths tomorrow, but I just need to finish this up first! :P
I have finally caught you guys up on the past two weeks... If I have bored you, deal with it! I'll write about something interesting eventually... ;D

So, I'm finding Uni pretty good so far. I mean... People are very different here. Alcohol and partying is considered a normal activity, and I haven't yet found someone who I can relate too... But, I'll get there I'm sure! I have a year after all! :P

Until then, I shall end my incredibly long post here! I shall try blog more often, but we'll see... Depends on my work load and/or my laziness! :3

~What's love? Nobody knows!~
